How it works

  1. Pick your city. We list free weekly runs (parkrun) within 30 km and clubs that welcome first-timers.
  2. Open the event page, check the time and the meeting point. Walkers and slow runners are welcome at every parkrun.
  3. Show up ten minutes early and say “first time here”. Someone will walk you through it — that is how these groups work.
  4. Want company for other evenings too? Meet & Mint shows events and people near you; join one alone, meet the group.

Going alone — what to expect

Your first parkrun, alone →

Questions people ask

Can I walk a parkrun?

Yes. Every parkrun has a tail walker who finishes last, so walkers are expected and never alone at the back.

Do I need to register?

Once, for free, on the parkrun website of the country. Print or save your barcode; without it you still run, you just don’t get a time.

Is it awkward to come alone?

No — most people do. Volunteers run a first-timers briefing before the start, and the café afterwards is the social part.

How accurate is this list?

Event locations come from the public parkrun events list and clubs are checked by hand with a date. Always confirm the time on the event page before you go.
